Full access to Northeastern University faculty and research staff in partner colleges and institutes for expertise in manufacturing technologies, cyber-security,  sensing and AI/ML.

Application of chemical and biological sciences to sensing, human protection, and performance enhancement.

Sensing: How do we design solutions that balance performance, cost, and user needs?

The Adaptive Materials and Sensing group aims to develop new materials, formulation strategies, and analytical methods to enable self-contained, deployable technologies for applications including: 

  • Risk assessment
  • Personal health monitoring
  • Information display and appearance control
  • Agricultural surveillance
  • Engineered living materials

Development of sensors, subsystems and platforms across all operating domains – sub-surface, surface, air and space.

Information extraction from large, complex datasets and decision support at multiple spatiotemporal scales.

MISSION:

Conduct R&D in analytical methods (AI/ML) and applications on critical multimodal information to provide intelligence and decision support to operators, analysts, and decision makers in high-stakes operational contexts to enhance the security of the United States.

+ Advance analytical models, reasoning and inference methodologies to support decision makers in high-stakes contexts in defense, security, and intelligence domains.

+ Advance analytical techniques for multimodal, structured, and unstructured data analyses to extract critical actionable intelligence upon which accurate and reliable decisions can be made.
